Traveling Mailbox Review 2026

Traveling Mailbox includes page scans in every plan, not just photos of the envelopes. Here are its three plans, what each includes, the fees to watch and who it fits, from its own pricing page.

Included

What every plan lists

Page scans, not just envelopes
Every plan includes a monthly allowance of page scans as well as envelope scans. Traveling Mailbox says it doesn't charge per scan or per request within your allowance.
Junk mail doesn't count
Mark an item as junk and it isn't counted against your plan limits.
Free shredding and unlimited cloud storage
Shredding is free on all plans, and scanned mail is kept in unlimited cloud storage.
Scans roll over
Each plan card says unused scans roll over. A footnote on the same page lists rollover for Extended, Small Business and Enterprise only, so ask if you're choosing Basic.
Change plans anytime
Upgrade or downgrade from the billing portal as your mail changes.
Several recipients
3 names on Basic, 5 on Extended, 10 on Small Business: a spouse, kids, a business or employees.

Extra services

The pricing page also lists mail forwarding, check deposits, package forwarding, package storage, envelope storage and envelope shredding. It doesn't show prices for forwarding or check deposits, so check its FAQ or ask support before you count on them. There's also a membership plan to keep your account open while you're not traveling; its price isn't on the pricing page either.

Support is by phone seven days a week (Eastern time) or by booked Zoom call, and the company says it has served customers since 2011 from its office in Sanford, North Carolina.

How it compares on scanning

Traveling Mailbox's entry price is higher than the cheapest plans we've checked, but scanning is where it differs. Say you want 10 two-page letters opened a month:

  • Traveling Mailbox Basic: 20 of the 35 included page scans, so $15 for the month.
  • iPostal1 Green: $9.99 plus 10 content scans at $2.25 each, so $32.49 for the month (prices checked Nov 7, 2026).

If you rarely open mail and only need the address, a cheaper plan can win. The price table has every entry plan we've checked.

A good fit if you

want most letters opened and readable as PDFs; share the mailbox with a partner, family or small team; or get a lot of junk mail you don't want counted.

Look elsewhere if you

only need an address and rarely open mail (see the price table), or need a domicile address for full-time RV life (see RV mail services).

Getting started

Pick an address and a plan

Choose from Traveling Mailbox's addresses, then the plan that matches your monthly envelopes and page scans.

Complete USPS Form 1583

Mail centers that receive mail for customers need a signed PS Form 1583 and two IDs before they can accept your mail. Traveling Mailbox has a Form 1583 page, and our LLC guide walks through the rules.

Manage your mail online

Incoming envelopes are scanned so you can see what arrived. Then choose what to open and scan, forward, shred or deposit.
